Kindness is positively contagious in the coffee world

A simple act of caring creates an endless ripple. An old adage I’ll never forget, in essence, it insinuates that kindness is positively contagious. It is likely that through acts of kindness, our ability to connect with others on an emotional level is increased and as a result, strengthens our sense of belonging to a community.

In today’s digital age, where social media has become an integral part of our lives, motivations for engaging in acts of kindness can often be misguided. Selflessness should come from the heart, not from your conscience or for clout. Nonetheless, you never know when someone might require some empathy, and that person could very well be you. Do not allow pride to encumber your willingness to receive help from others.

Recently, our barista friend from South Africa, Mbonisi Bamala, had lost all his coffee brewing apparatus upon relocating. I’M NOT A BARISTAS was able to provide aid by sponsoring an AeroPress, and our friends from MoreFlavour were kind enough to gift him a hand grinder as well. Hopefully, these gestures will help him tide over while he settles into a new environment.

I’M NOT A BARISTA believes baristas are the backbone of the coffee industry. By spreading awareness of the struggles within the coffee supply chain, we strive to build appreciation for the hardships these craftsmen endure to bring us those daily cups of caffeine.

We are committed to giving back to the coffee community where we believe that help is needed most. Discover more about how you can contribute to the coffee scene, become a volunteer and help us spread the love for coffee and coffee people, make a donation and support us.
