#brewathome is a very important initiative in these times of crisis. Both the social part, connecting people when the world seems dark, but also to stimulate the coffee business and make our part in helping them survive until times are more fruitful.

My name is Sebastian Franzén and I am one of the owners of Ceramics & More (@ceramicsandmore), located in Malmö, Sweden. I post about coffee at @sebastianscoffee on instagram, and talk about it on the podcast @kaffekonnassorerna. #brewathome is a very important initiative in these times of crisis. Both the social part, connecting people when the world seems dark, but also to stimulate the coffee business and make our part in helping them survive until times are more fruitful.

My name is Micky Wang, and I'M NOT A BARISTA. I worked in the coffee industry as a marketing director, where I often received sponsorship requests from talented baristas but was unable to help them due to budget restrictions.

Coffee is just a drink from another plant without people. Everyone loves coffee, but only small groups of people understand coffee: coffee producers, traders, roasters, and baristas who are often underpaid for their excellent work. I want to connect all the dots and help baristas in need by spreading awareness of the barista profession worldwide and supporting baristas in their dreams to participate in coffee competitions.

For me #brewathome is a global network for support and solidarity in challenging times!

I'm currently competing a PhD in Sociology (EHESS, Paris), studying how coffee is redefined as a specialty product in France and Brazil. I also write for food & coffee magazine (Standart, 25 Magazine) and teach undergrad and graduate classes on consumption, food and authenticity. I recently started a series of events connecting academic research on the history and culture of food with tastings.

For me #brewathome is a global network for support and solidarity in challenging times!

I come from the world of wine and I fell in love with specialty coffee because is complex and never boring.
I open my IG account Specialty PaL to spread the word about quality coffee because here in Italy the most of people don't know anything about it. And not just about coffee, but also about the different method of extraction.
My partner Luca, help me with pictures and graphics. But also him is very passionate with coffee.
My mission is to help roasters and the coffee Industry to arrive to the heart of each person in Italy through the good communication.

#brewathome for me is a kind of life style. We should stay at home in these day and we should do it in the best possible way.
In this suspended time, we can help to teach and learn something to each other and never forget to support local market.
Every problem if faced together, surely will be easier and more powerful!

Coffee really connects people! I’m really glad to be a part of something bigger with #brewathome campaign. Hoping our efforts can help people around the globe in these troubled times.

I studied Advertising and Marketing in university, worked for several years in high tech manufacturing, and currently I’m a self-employed freelance specialty coffee consultant (among other things) 😉 with a focus on manual brewing.

I’ve always loved coffee and began my journey into brewing specialty coffees around 2009 using just a French press. My fascination and interest for specialty coffee and manual brewing grew quickly and I searched for better coffees, mostly single origin coffees from roasters in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada at the time.

Coffee really connects people! I’m really glad to be a part of something bigger with #brewathome campaign. Hoping our efforts can help people around the globe in these troubled times.

To me, #brewathome is an oasis of positivity during this very difficult time and a very powerful social media movement that brings together roasters, coffee accessory companies and customers.

I have been the Sales & Marketing Manager for AeroPress Coffee Maker for the last five years and absolutely love the specialty coffee industry and the amazing AeroPress fans. As the manager of our instagram account, I have the privilege of seeing everyone’s posts and stories and they always completely impress me away with their creativity.

To me, #brewathome is an oasis of positivity during this very difficult time and a very powerful social media movement that brings together roasters, coffee accessory companies and customers. I am so happy to be a part of this and work with this incredible team of people.

What #brewathome means to me...
In English, there is the expression " take a decision".
This collection of words is beautiful.
It's what being a part of the speciality coffee scene means. It's taking the decision to pursue perfection, knowledge, skills, more knowledge, more work, and so on and so on.

I'm originally from Israel. Came to Poland in 2004 for med school. Opened up a tiny cafe during my 3rd yr since I needed to put food on the table for my little baby daughter.
I graduated in 2011, and decided that this cafe has to start making a difference, so I focused mostly on that. Making a difference. It sucked me in and here we are. 🙂
I'm the owner of Cophi solutions, and also COPHIED. We produce fair trade eco local barista socks.
Never heard of us?
🙂

Everyone knows, it really isn't an easy job, but what makes it so amazing is the community. The glue that holds all of this together. No politics. No borders. Just 1 common "decision that WE took", to make this world a better place, 1 cup of coffee at a time. Together.
Brew at home is exactly that for me. It's a continuation, the practise of that "oath".
Sharing is caring. We are stronger together.
Another day, another way.

Being exposed to speciality coffee was a game changer for me. It unlocked a passion in me that I did not know was there.

I am a barista at the moment at Origin Coffee Roasters in Cape Town, South Africa.

Being exposed to speciality coffee was a game changer for me. It unlocked a passion in me that I did not know was there. My interest and curiosity sparked and brewing from home was on was that I could fuel this passion we all share. It was not long after the practice of home brewing that I found myself on stage at a barista competition. Since then it has lead me to make so many connections with amazing likeminded Individuals around the globe, and changed my life forever.

#BREWATHOME is an exact expression of what the coffee community does best: inclusion, support and togetherness. We're all feeling anxious, isolated and stripped of our normal lives so knowing there's a hub of fellow coffee lovers who are in the same position definitely helps!

I have started my journey with speciality coffee around 4-5 years ago, after an espresso in Barcelona converted me forever. Since then, I have drank litres of exceptional brews, met some fascinating and ultra hardworking people and learned a lot. Running the blog and attending the events along working full time is not always easy for me however if I should name one aspect that always draws me in again - it's the community.

#BREWATHOME is an exact expression of what the coffee community does best: inclusion, support and togetherness. We're all feeling anxious, isolated and stripped of our normal lives so knowing there's a hub of fellow coffee lovers who are in the same position definitely helps! It's really inspiring to be able to find people from all around the world brewing beans from around the world, in one place or under one hashtag. I can't wait to learn all your tips and tricks when you #brewathome!
