GCAG Colombia: A Journey of Learning, Community, and Impact

As the sun sets on our unforgettable time in Colombia, we reflect on what has been a truly meaningful experience. The first-ever GCAG (Global Coffee Alliance for Good) training program brought together young coffee farmers, passionate educators, and a community dedicated to making a difference.

Over the course of three days, we immersed ourselves in sensory training, brewing techniques, water and more, equipping our students with knowledge and hands-on experience they can carry forward into their coffee journey. But beyond the skills and techniques, this program was about people—the coffee farmers who work tirelessly every day, the local partners who supported this initiative, and the students who embraced every lesson with enthusiasm and curiosity.

One of the most special moments of this trip was visiting the farm of two sisters Laura and Johanna, who inherited their family’s coffee land a few years ago. While their coffee may not yet be classified as “specialty,” their dedication, hard work, and love for coffee remind us that every coffee farmer deserves respect, regardless of the score in a cup.

We wrapped up with a friendly coffee competition, where students showcased their newfound skills, and finally, we gifted them quality brewing equipment provided by TIMEMORE and Lilydrip—a contribution that will help them continue their practice and passion long after the course has ended.

Keeping GCAG Transparent

To ensure this charity education project remains transparent, we will publish all expenses, details, and contributions made by our charity partners. Every dollar and every piece of equipment donated will be accounted for, so that everyone who supports GCAG knows exactly how their contributions are making a difference.

We believe in accountability and openness, and we are committed to making sure this initiative continues to serve the coffee community in the most impactful way possible. Stay tuned for our full financial and donation report coming soon!

Special Thanks to Our Local Partners

This project would not have been possible without the incredible support of our local partners in Colombia.

A huge shoutout to María Lucia and her Federico Foundation for working tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event a success. Your dedication to helping coffee producers and young farmers is truly inspiring.

Thank you to Liliana and the team at Casa Blanca for opening your doors to us, sharing your story, and giving us the opportunity to connect with the heart of coffee production. Your generosity and hospitality meant everything to us.

Gratitude to Our Trainers & Sponsors
This program was made possible thanks to the dedication and expertise of our incredible trainer Helena Oliviero and assistant Leonardo Gaviria, whose passion for coffee education and commitment to sharing knowledge made this training an enriching experience for every student. Your guidance and patience helped shape the future of these young coffee farmers.

A big thank you to TIMEMORE, our main charity partner, for not only funding this initiative but also donating 20 high-quality brewing kits, ensuring that our students can continue practicing their skills beyond the training.

Gratitude to all our supporting sponsors who contributed in different ways, whether through donations, equipment, or logistical support—your contributions directly impacted the lives of these young farmers and the future of sustainable coffee production.

This was a true community effort, and we couldn’t have done it without every single one of you.

Coffee Connects Us Beyond Language

Through brewing, tasting, and learning together, we found a deeper connection—one that transcended language barriers. Whether through a shared smile over a perfect cup or a nod of understanding when discovering a new flavor, our passion for coffee united us in a way that words never could.

This experience reminded us why GCAG exists—to bring people together, to bridge gaps, and to empower coffee communities around the world.

What’s Next?

This is just the beginning. GCAG is growing, and we will continue working on projects that empower the coffee community, one training at a time. To our students, keep brewing, keep learning, and keep believing in your craft. And to everyone who supports this cause, we hope you’ll join us in our mission to make coffee education accessible to all.

Humanity runs on coffee. Let’s brew a better future together.
